A New Leaf

1 min read
Hey guys. A very long time no see from me, I know, so I'm not sure who'd still be around to read this, but I thought I should at least post something here to explain my long-dead disappearing act. Between life responsibilities and work, my passion for art has taken a bit of a sidestep, something I don't really care for but that's been reality for a while. Fast-forward to the present, I'm now trying to work to get back into what I used to love doing, so if there is anyone out there who is interested, I've recently set up an account on Artstation, which will be my new HQ in terms of my profile. Anything new I make will be posted there from now on, if you'd still like to follow me and see what I'm up to these days.

Sorry this took so long guys. I hope to see you there :) (Well, who's left after this long, that is. Lol.)

  • How long have you been on DeviantArt?

Five years and counting...the longest I've been apart of any website community ;)

  • What does your username mean?

Funny that's a question, as I've never really told anyone but a select few who have asked...by any standards, it doesn't really 'mean' anything, but it is based off of a character from a long-ago favorite movie of mine, the Catbeast from 9 Lol no one saw that coming I bet lol

  • Describe yourself in three words.

Describe? *looks around quizzingly* Uhhh...I'd like to think kind, artistic, and an introvert. Yeah.

  • Are you left or right handed?

    Right.

  • What was your first deviation?

    Fox and Tea by CatBeast17

(I actually did a gallery sweep a while ago and deleted my very first deviant...and it was partly because my gallery was cluttered, and partly because of the cringe-worthiness of the quality of the art (proceeds then to cringe at the current picture depicted here) But this is one of my oldest pieces, so It'll do fine for the question. Yay old art! :D I see what you did there DA)

  • What is your favourite type of art to create?

Traditional, always. Digital is wonderful too, but in my personal preference, there's something more magical about being able to create something without the aid of modern technology...

  • If you could instantly master a different art style, what would it be?

Hmmm...animation perhaps. People who can make the things move like that are bloody magicians I tell you.

  • What was your first favourite?

    Little Fox by hibbary

Can't actually remember what my first favorite was, but this was definitely one of my earliest :D

  • What type of art do you tend to favourite the most?

Style-wise, traditional and digital, and photography. Type wise...animal-themed things (which may or may not be leaning more towards those of the fox species...*cough cough*)

  • Who is your all-time favourite deviant artist?

Lol, I admit that that is an impossible question to answer. A few of my favorite(s) and all-around wonderful people would be these top dogs :icondeceitful-fox: :iconceladoria: :iconx-ray-dog: :iconjamjams: :iconiametoh: :icontienala: :iconhan-wik: :iconmaripazvillar:

    etc, etc, etc....

  • If you could meet anyone on DeviantArt in person, who would it be?

Too many (lol) But for the sake of the question, :icondeceitful-fox:, :iconceladoria:, :iconx-ray-dog: to start it off :XD: (it may or may not continue in the allotted order from the previous question...)

  • How has a fellow deviant impacted your life?

There have been many, but a few of those that stand out have taught me to stick to doing what you love despite what others may call you, and to stand up for yourself. Don't let someone's threats or scare tactics confine you to a box that suppresses your desire for making/creating artwork.

  • What are your preferred tools to create art?

    My hands ;)

  • What is the most inspirational place for you to create art?

My inspiration strikes in an irregular pattern. Literally almost anywhere can be good enough.

  • What is your favourite DeviantArt memory?

*pulls out random tab from many out of the top hat* Probably the one where some kind-hearted bloke gifted me with my first 3-month DA membership all those years ago (thank you kind-hearted bloke, that won't be forgotten! :D)

Yes, that's right! After too long, I have decided to open them agin! :D

It will be a paypal-only deal for two open slots. I am currently working on some other business right now, so I'll be able to open up more slots when it's finished :) If you are interested, don't hesitate to note me! We can discuss the details together then like the dapper gentlefolk that we are :iconisayplz:

Hello y'all.

It's been too long and a fortnight since I've been away/and/or updated my journal. Blame it on multiple happenings in my life that distracted me away from this place. Or the fact that this is a commonly used excuse, when attempting to explain a prolonged absence, I guess that would work too :icontoocoolplz:

But whatever reason you prefer, I have had some pretty big changes take place in my life, that have left me grappling for a balance as I work to straighten things out. Mainly, my moving halfway across the country, to the southern side of it, obviously was the biggest event to happen to me a few months ago back in October. From the humble country/town life to a huge city nonetheless. It's been one heck of a ride and even bigger adjustment for me, as I still try to desperately grasp at my bearings in all the hustle and bustle. (Also, while having a new respect for cityfolk. You guys sure put up with a loooooooooooooooot lol. Mostly the oh-so charming ways of other drivers and TRAFFIC. Just no, I still don't know how anyone can live in a city all their life and not lose their minds. Apparently, I was not born for citylife: I have not inherited the required gene, and I don't think that'll change anytime soon.):iconcannotevenplz:

So that's the biggest thing that has happened in my personal life. The others mainly have to do with family events, such as weddings.Yeah. Those lovely things of which I have no concept of still :iconimgrinningplz: Bomb diggity.

And then last, but not least, the earth's wrath. Being in the south now, there are certain...heat problems or so that happen here, causing many residents to hibernate in the summer as they attempt to flee the sweltering heat. The number of times I've had people grin and give me the :iconohyouplz: face, before proceeding to say something along the lines of "You poor yankee soul, you have no idea what's coming..."

Yep. They can sniff me out a mile away. I also had someone call me a carpetbagger here too for the first time...he was doing it out of a joke, but still, just your ever-present friendly reminder that you're a northerner in southern country. We're not in Kansas anymore Toto.

There are a few other things too, but mostly they just consist of your everyday average monsoon, flash flood, and minor earthquake...oh, and hailstorms apparently. Can't forget about those golfball-to-softball sized ice chunks falling from the sky. Apparently fairly normal for here :iconimthinkingplz: Also, to all you natural US born southerners out there...has my ignorance shone through yet? :iconimhappyplz:

Also, I have a new journal skin :meow: Much adorable it is, I think I'll keep it a while :iconyesmemeplz:

Also...art status. I'm currently working on a few things, but if I told you I'd have slots open for two commissions, would anyone be interested? It would be a paypal-only deal, and we can work out the headier details in a note :) Just thought I'd ask out of curiosity, just in case. You just never know what to expect around these parts that is DA :iconseriouschuplz:

Changes

Well DA, I'm gone for a few hours and you go and change everything on me. Great, now I have to familiarize myself with these new page updates.

Who told you you could go and change on me, DA?

Y U NO warn me of these things before hand DA?! :icony-u-noplz:

Lol, pointless journal is pointless. I guess I'm speaking on behalf of my reaction to another one of DA's famous drastic no-warnings-before-hand major yearly changes. Which, was more like this, in icon-ic (you see what I did there? Huh? HUH?? :iconimgrinningplz: Lol how to humor ) formation: :icondramaticdean-plz: :iconstewiewtfplz: :iconohyoucasplz:

Ahem. So that's all the useless and uninformative stuff I had to say. Unless you count the fact that my computer decided to go on holiday via Idroppeditonthefloorandspilledteaonitatthesametime for about a week and a half and had to get it fixed….yeah. Like a boss :icontoocoolplz: IT WAS TRAGIC. Learn from my mistake kids. Don't try to force any kind of liquid on a computer. They will not forgive you of it. That is all :stare:

*EDIT*: So I know now that these new changes are mostly reserved for beta testers only. For those of you who don't know what the heck I'm talking about (and therefore efficiently making myself look like a lunatic in the process), look here wreckling.deviantart.com/journ…
