Watercolor Cheetah ;)
First time attempting a full watercolored painting (okay, I'll admit to using SOME acrylic paint...but only for the wet highlights around the nose, mouth, and eyes :) ) and first attempt at drawing a Cheetah! :dance:

:icondonotplz::iconusemyartplz:

And to this day, backgrounds still remain my Arch-Nemesis :iconnotimpressedplz: (And they most likely will always remain so :P )

Colored with coffee and watercolor paints.

Time: About 3 hours.

I'm in love with your work! Do you do commissions? I have this system that when one of my cat passes on I get a portrait of them done, I'd love to get you to do a portrait!

Aww, Thank you!! :heart: It makes me feel good knowing that others appreciate my work :)
And yes, I do indeed! :) Now, when you say that, do you mean just over the internet, or you show me the picture and I mail the finished results to you?

First off, very nice! Especially being your first cheetah :aww: I'm curious, did you use gouache or acrylic to paint the whiskers and is the black ink? I always love to hear how others do it when it comes out nicely :3

Okay, so you're like, one of my favorite artists here on DA. And I'm really excited that you took the time to comment on one of my pieces of artwork :iconexcitedplz:

Anyways, I used acrylic paint for only the highlights of the eyes and the nose. Everything else was a watercolor and coffee mixture :) I WISH I had black ink though...I've seen what people can do with that stuff, and I can't wait to try it out!
Same here. I always like to ask and see how so-and-so created this-and-that, because it's very interesting to see the coloring/drawing style of another artist :)

Just on Sunday our new male cheetah at work (who is pretty wild) walked towards the fence where I was and hissed at me. He is a beautiful cat with an intense look, as well as an intense personality as I've found out...and I'm glad that there was the fence between us. :D
I thought of your watercolor here when he hissed at me. I'm planning to make my own drawing of him soon :aww:
